12x16 oil on panel --A fond memory of when that Ford was parked in our yard- loved how magical it looked gleaming in the summer night-

This is my favorite model of this body style, it still had the flathead V8 or a overhead I6

Wow this must look great in person!I had one of these, or one of the same model I believe. Here in Brazil I had to customize it, but man it was awesome driving this truck :)

Sorry for bothering, but by panel, you mean canvas panel?Or is it wood? And if wood, how do I prime it for oils? Thanks in advance!

It was an awesome vehicle- I no longer own it though
As for the panel it's painted on- it's MDF board,1/4 thick, commonly referred to as masonite. Untempered masonite is no longer available in the USA- at least not around my area of the country
MDF is fine to use as long as it's gessoed on both sides to prevent moisture from getting to it. On the Front side I give it 4-5 coats, lightly sanded and in different directions each time.
Weight is it's drawback as with all panels-, although you can get 1/8"- but that can warp at larger sizes- I never go larger than 20x24" with it
